"As we had extended our stay in Istanbul an additional day, we took the Viking excursion to visit the "Old City" wherein we visited the following locations: a) the Suleymaniye Cami, or Blue Mosque, b) the Hippodrome, c) the Hagia Sofia, and d) the "Grand Bazaar. Here, tthe standard excursion was a trip to the ancient site of Ephesus, which in ancient times was actually a port city!..."Read More

1-10 of 32 Viking Ocean Viking Venus Cruise Reviews for Luxury Cruises to the Mediterranean
The trip was chosen due to first class nature of the ship, the excursions, and the location. From the moment we boarded until we disembarked, it was an amazing trip full of adventure, new sites, some of the best tour guides and experienced and fabulous ship personnel. The cruise director was enthusiastic and knowledge and wanted everyone to have a great time. The restaurants were top notch and ...
This was our first Viking Ocean cruise. It will not be our last. The ship is beautiful. The amenities are spectacular from the plethora of areas to just take it easy to the spa. And all with no kids and no pressure to purchase anything else. The Chef's Table restaurant has awesome service and awesome food. We got the wine pairings with the meal and it was a 5 star experience. We also tried ...
Viking cruise is just like their advertising state, its a thinking man's cruise not a drinking man's. There is always interesting lecture regarding the history of your next port as well as the interesting people in the region. All the included tours are great as well as any of the added tours. The local tour guide are knowledgeable and make their tour interesting and they tend to include some ...
Viking Cruises are by far my favorite with excellent customer service, wonderful accommodations and delicious food. The excursions were well planned with knowledge tour guides. We knew when we boarded our excursion bus that we were going to learn about the local area and understand the history. Both my husband and I relaxed in the steam room and revived in the snow room. It was a treat to be so ...
The overall cruise was great but the food selections and cabin were not up to par for a Viking sailing. The World Café has many of the same items each night (side dishes, fillers, salads) and the selections for the main courses were limited. Also on the night they served lobster we ate in the restaurant but when they served the lobster it was "fishy". I ate one bite and that was it. We went to the ...
There were several factors that attracted us to this cruise. The itinerary was excellent and was very well paced. Our interests focus more on discovering and exploring new places, than on the "at sea" cruising experiences. This cruise had the perfect balance of both.
Viking's all inclusive pricing was another major factor. The included shore excursions were very good and the anytime ...
We had always wanted to explore Ancient Greece. This made it easy and in style. Having a single room, being able to unpack our luggage once was wonderful. The food was excellent and the ship amazing. The maintenance and upkeep were impressive and the sights from the decks, lounges, food venues and our balcony were breath taking. The seas were smooth and the captain and crew were constantly trying ...
This trip was on my birthday bucket list and I have looked forward to this trip for many years! The ship is beautiful, restaurants excellent, food variety excellent, Chef Ivan's cooking class was fun, entertaining, and a good learning experience and staff was exceptionally responsive and always upbeat.
Overall a great time with two exceptions: (1) our trip to Volos, Greece was disappointing ...
We chose to see Greece on the Viking ship Venus because of the itinerary. We went in December, the “Quiet Mediterranean” time. We were not disappointed. The scenery was still beautiful with flowers blooming, olives and oranges on the trees and best of all, no crowds!
We chose the 4 day pre cruise extension in Athens which turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip.
Our guide for 3 ...
This was our first cruise on Viking, and it did not disappoint at all! We chose this cruise because it included 3 days in the Holy Land in addition to the other cities we wanted to visit. What we experienced on Viking was more than expected = incredible and amazing. The ship was beautifully designed, clean and comfortable.
The crew was top notch in all levels with fabulous customer service - ...
