Thought it was an exciting way to avoid flying to Japan and do some hiking in Alaska. One cruise port (Dutch Harbour) was cancelled for good reason I guess and we were credited but made it boring especially when all the theme were Japanese.

Admittedly, we are used to sailing without children, and on a more upscale line, but we were sadly disappointed by Holland America. We chose a suite so our grandchildren (then 11 and 9) could share quarters with us, and the suite was fine--it was close to the concierge, offered snacks virtually all day long, and kept the kids entertained.
