This was our second time on the Poesia and we found the ship in the same condition which is a good thing as two years has passed. It does take away from the wow factor to get back on the same ship as there isn't that 'day of discovery' as you explore around deck by deck.
Overall our experience was good and what we were expecting. I had booked a balcony for the price of an inside (in an ...
The Poesia is a beautiful, pleasant ship. Our experience was far better than many negative reviews have described.
There are unusual features such as performances by real, Italian opera singers. The buffet is filled with Italian foods such as antipasti, various pasta dishes, and a salad bar with olives, artichoke hearts, and sun-dried tomatoes. The dining room fare is much like Carnival's, ...
I read lots of reviews of MSC, and the Poesia specifically, after I booked the Moody Blues cruise. If you've read any yourself, you know there are quite a few very critical reviews, so I was a bit concerned.
Fortunately, the ship thoroughly exceeded my expectations. MSC Poesia is a beautiful ship and in excellent condition. It's bigger than I'm used to, so it's easy to get lots of walking in. ...
we began cruising with MSC when they arrived in the US. We have sailed on the opera, orchestra, divina, and poesia twice. We like this the best. It is not as big as divina and the staff is better.
The ships are newer so things look pretty. It is not as well organized as I would like. Don't like how MSC has the lines longer than Disney world to get on board.
the drink packages are ...
I was on the Poesia in December 2011, again in December 2012 and also on Jan 19th of this year (2013). In December 2011 the food was almost all Italian and we enjoyed the experience. In December of 2012 it looked like they were making an attempt to serve american food to their guests. As reported here in many posts it was terrible. I went on about 5 weeks later and the change was almost ...
MSC Poesia is a nice and elegant ship. It is spotless clean, definitely cleaner than average cruise ships.
I chose this ship because of the itinerary and was not disappointed. Due to high winds, the ship could not dock in Falmouth but docked two hours later in Montego Bay. At all the other ports the ship came on time and getting off the ship was a fast process, except for the tendering in Grand ...
I've read some harsh review of the MSC Poesia, and while this wasn't my favorite cruise, it certainly wasn't the worst.
First up, embarkation was a breeze. We were on the ship in no time and got keys to our room immediately. The ship doesn't leave port until 7pm, but we arrived at the terminal around 1pm and had a leisurely afternoon and lunch on board.
The ship is beautiful and very clean. ...
I wanted to be sure to give good advice for anyone else who is considering MSC. I have been on Carnival, RCL & NCL before and I wanted to try something new, I can tell you there is no hand holding on this cruise line. I missed a lot of important stuff because I didn't know enough about this cruise line and they aren't very forthcoming with the information.
80% of the rooms are balconies, so ...
BACKGROUND
I sailed on this cruise as a solo. This was my 10th cruise; I've been on all the mainstream cruise lines (except Costa) and about half the premium/luxury lines so inevitably I ended up comparing this ship and cruise line with others I've taken--it compared favorably, despite that it was less expensive than most (maybe all of them) and had mixed reviews. I am an American and speak ...
We arrived at the port around 11am. Embarkation was very easy. We were on the ship quickly.
A crew member showed us to our cabin. He tried to give us some info about the ship, his English wasn't that great. That was true most of the trip. The language barrier was a little challenging. The cabin was fine. Plenty of space for the 3 of us.
We hung out by the pool. The lounge chairs are ...
