We have cruised Carnival now 5 years in a row and we are ready to "jump ship". The variety of entertainment is disappointing; the same thing, same shows, etc., on each cruise, even on different ships. The "entertainment" in the dining room from the wait staff is even the same from ship to ship. We are fortunate that we have been able to cruise so often but it is time to move on. As far as the Triumph goes, we found it VERY irritating that almost the entire outside area was centered around the big-screen t.v. which showed The Today Show each morning. For me, going on vacation is to escape for a few days and not worry about all the world events going on. BUT what was even worse was the INFOMERCIALS they'd broadcast. We do not have children and even I was appalled at the BRA and ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION infomercials that they were showing. Why or why would they show any informercials but especially ones that are not suited for all audiences. The Triumph is showing its age. We asked, and it is scheduled for drydock in September and it truly needs it. Our remote control for our tv didn't work. Our neighbor's phone didn't work. The elevators had a mind of their own. You'd enter one going up and if it felt like it, it would go down or go up a floor then down. The coffee cups, china, silverware and plates (especially in the buffet areas) were mostly chipped, stained, cracked and just worn out looking. There was a small area up top that had open railings where you could sit outside and actually see the sea (instead of the bigscreen tv) and that floor was filthy. My flip flops actually stuck to it when I'd get up to walk to the bathroom or go get a drink. It was a small area and many people congregated there as I'm sure they were like us and wanting to have a vacation experience, rather than sit and watch the news. The bedding was ratty and stained. It had been laundered but it was just like everything else on the ship and worn down. The windows in the public areas were filthy, so obviously the windows in our suite were also dirty. I actually washed the balcony window one day so I could see out!Despite the age of the ship and the POOR design of the ship, we had a nice time and the staff was, for the most part, very polite but they were definitely short-staffed!! It seemed to us that they're trying to get ONE MORE summer out of the Triumph before it goes into drydock and they are really pushing it because it truly needs a facelift now.I just wanted to share this info in case someone is trying to decide on which ship to take. My opinion is to take a newer one or one that isn't so close to the end of its life.

Cabin Review

Cabin 11

The room was quite roomy and lots of storage! The balcony was roomy. It would have been nice if they'd wash the windows. Caution! If you have trouble stepping up high, this would not be a good cabin because it was a whirlpool tub with a shower in it. You had to be able to step over the high side of the tub wall to get into the shower. It was difficult for me as I'm only 4'11" and it was difficult for my husband as he has a bad knee.
