Maybe our expectations were too high. We expected to find the same, or better, level of service as we received two years ago onboard RCI's Grandeur of the Seas. We were disappointed.

Ryndam's attention to detail was found to be wanting at almost every turn. The service was lackluster and indifferent (until after I threw a fit in the Hotel Manager's office, then it improved to the point of distraction...) and the ship had several problems, not the least of which was the inoperative toilet for an afternoon and the smell of sewage throughout the central area on deck 6 for two days. James, the fitness trainer provided misinformation along with incompetent service, causing me to demand a refund on my "Ultimate Pass" in the gym. We never did get ashore in Cabo San Lucas because of the lack of planning and shortage of tenders to get us ashore. After being told that the wait to go ashore would be 30 minutes, we waited for two hours (with no beverage service, explanation or entertainment) in the Vermeer Theatre before surrendering our excursion vouchers and retiring to the aft pool to cool off and salvage the remainder of the day.

The "Guest Relations Manager" on this ship is clueless. Ironically, she sent a bottle of wine to our cabin to win us over, this after I had informed her the Hotel Manager and untold other people on the ship that we do not drink alcohol.. Incidentally, even the wine steward finally caught on after four days and quit trying to sell us booze.
