The American Countess christening cruise was outstanding. It all started with our hotel stay the night before. We were all required to get a COVID test which made us feel much more comfortable about going on a cruise. Knowing that people would not be on the boat who had not tested negative was a relief.
Then the next day, the transfer to the boat was seamless. We walked outside the hotel and there was a beautiful bus waiting to take us to the dock. Once we arrived, we had our temperatures checked and our luggage was brought to our room. Then we were off to the christening of the boat. What a fabulous program. They had a myriad of speakers who were able to highlight the importance of bringing the American Countess into the steamboat fold.
After the exciting christening events, it was time to tour the American Countess which was a breathtaking experience. The exquisite decorating and the fabulous chandeliers were beautiful. The design of the ship and their usage of space was something that I had not seen on other ships. There was so much attention to detail that I did not expect.

The state rooms were well done and the use of space was terrific. Being able to put suitcases under the bed allowed you to have a walkway rather than having to stack suitcases. The spaces for your clothes were a decent size and all of the clothes and shoes fit into the spaces provided. The side shelves in the bathroom allowed me to put my toiletries out of the way and easily accessible.
