Destination was why we booked the MAJESTY OF THE SEAS. Pricing was why we selected an INSIDE STATEROOM. Experience of ship and destination exceeded our expectations. We selected the 8 hr BEST OF HAVANA, also the 5 hr EASY PANAROMIC TOUR (included lobster lunch w/entertainment, by the sea). 5 hr tour was alot of repeat of the 8 hr tour, with a couple of new stops added. If you want souvenirs, best selection is on the 8hr tour. However, we found the coffee and rum best affordable on the 5 hr tour at the Fort. It is there you get the best view of Havana. You also visit the marble Christ statue. No admission into fort. This is also where you see the man (and his wax figure) who holds the Guinness world record for rolling the longest cigar. We purchased a cup of coffee at this shop. Affordable, but not recommended if you must have weaker coffee and/or with cream. We thought it was delicious. Prior to leaving home, we exchanged US dollars into Euros. Bank did not charge us any fee. Upon disembarkation in Havana, we exchanged those Euros for Pesos (CUC). Small 3% fee. Had we changed US $ into CUC, there would have been a 13% fee. We changed back to Euros, prior to leaving Cuba. Took equivalent of @ 100 Euros and spent about half. I did tip many (bus driver, tour guide, musicians, washroom attendants, & man I saw cleaning the cemetery). I left money in the church donation box. So, you will get the chance to use the CUC. I also took small (hotel-type) toiletries and spread the loot around as washrooms were visited. Always most appreciated. Some offered paper, but BRING YOUR OWN TP. Camera recommended if your cell phone is slower. Lots of storage necessary. Photo ops are many. The CARS! Revolutionary Square. It is endless and exciting. This being said, there are tour opportunities for touring in the classic cars, as well other options. Sun is brutal, so you want your hat and sunscreen. A note about the bus: it was new, comfortable, with seatbelts, and a toilet. A note about condition of city: walkways, as streets, are often uneven and in bad state of disrepair. Wearing good walking shoes and be mindful of where you are walking. We were too exhausted from 8 hr tour to go back out at night, but you could if desired. The VISA fee of $75 is worth it to see this destination. Touring on your own may not be permitted. Rules keep changing in Cuba.

Note for Inside Stateroom: separating beds gives you floor space plus a shelf you would otherwise not have. We did get robes, foam pillows, nice toiletries. Everything worked and was clean/comfortable. The Diamond + experience was good. Breakfast in dining room in special area with specialty coffees. Evening was in the Viking Crown. No complaints - view was fantastic.
