Traveled with children

We just came back 2 days ago from our Eastern Caribbean cruise. Overall we liked the experience and would probably try MSC again if the price stays to be a good value. We travelled with two children under 11 years old and because they did not pay full fares it was a great value for us.

Embarkation/Debarkation: It was fast and easy. Getting onboard was a breeze. On the last day we had a plane to catch so had to change our debarkation time at customer service which was no problem. We moved it to 8:30 debarkation and were out within 15 minutes and our luggages were already out. If you have children, you will be given their wristband immediately upon embarkation for location tracking but this is not the registration of children for kids program - which you have to do separately at kids room.

Elevators: as mentioned it was a bit challenging, but on deck 15 in our area there were a total of 8 elevators (in our section only) and it was not impossible to get on one. We did not mind walking on busy times even 5-6 levels with children- great way to work off the buffet food anyways, unless you have mobility issues and must use elevator all the time, I do not understand why people complained about this.

Cabin Review

Fantastica Inside Stateroom

Cabin I2

We had an inside cabin with Fantastica package(12 drink vouchers per person) - which was beautiful and roomier than I thought. The room was a long and slender shape - more space from the door to the edge of bed, lots of shelves and hangers. Dresser had a blow dryer which was not weak like the ones you find in hotel rooms - I brought my own and did not have to. Large mirrors on both sides. Bathroom was small as expected but worked great - loved the foot rest bar in the shower for leg shaving haha. We are not large people and it worked for us but if you are above average height/size you may find it tight in the shower. Cabin was cleaned morning and evening. One minor flaw was that when you open up the bunk beds from the ceiling, TV would be partially blocked, and if you are lying on the queen bed and sit up, you would hit your head on the bunk bed unless you were right in the middle. This is because the room is narrow and bunk beds come down close together. We ended up using only one bunk bed and our younger one joined us on the queen bed. We were below buffet/pool level but did not hear much noise and had no issues. Our cabin at deck 15 turned out to be a central location to get to the main entertainment deck/pool/buffet - very convenient.
