Overall we were very pleased with the cruise. The only negative worth mentioning is that the Seafood Shack was not enjoyable at all, and the fact that it is an extra charge makes it even more unappealing. We had to get a pager and be paged when food was finished. It wasn't a long wait but the food was cold and extremely greasy with not much taste at all. Complete waste in my opinion. Also the lido area by Guy's burger and the Blue Iguana Cantina is very congested and crowded. You can barely get through to the lido restaurant during breakfast/lunch. The lines for the buffet, Guy's, Blue Iguana Cantina, Deli, etc seemed to be longer than usual as well. That being said, the service in the Dining Room as well as food quality was up to par and very enjoyable. Spencer, the cruise director was entertaining and personable. The music and show's were great. Our stateroom was fine and our stateroom steward was on the ball with our every need!!

Cabin Review

Interior

Cabin 4F

As stated above, the cabin was fine. There was a permanent black ring around the toilet and sink had a crack so probably could use updates but didn't bother us. We weren't in there except to sleep at night and nap during the day.

Port Reviews

Progreso

REALLY ENJOYED Progreso. It gets a very bad rap. Yes the people are a little pushy but unlike Cozumel which gets several Cruise Ships every day of the week, Progreso gets one or two a couple of times a week so they have to try a little harder. We took the free shuttle into town and got $10 massages (Divine), took a city tour with Fabi ($5). She was very informative and friendly!! We then walked a little over a block to the Beach. The only problem at the beach was a man immediately wanted me to sit at his table and I specifically asked if there was a charge. He says, "It's ok ma'am, it's ok." I then asked him, "So we only need to buy drinks right?" to which he replied, "Yes ma'am, yes ma'am". So my husband and I sat down and immediately ordered drinks. I swam some while he bartered with the vendors. When it came time to pay the bill, he tried to charge us $15 for the table and over charge us for our drinks. He was very nice when I reminded him of what he had said and pointed out the over charge, and made the change.

New Orleans

Love New Orleans. We stayed in Pearl River overnight and drove straight to the port on Saturday. After getting off ship, went to Cafe Du Monde for beignets and across the street for Pralines on our way out of town.
