This cruise was a pre-Christmas break to relax and unwind after a busy year.
Cruised on Sun Princess numerous times, so know the ship and layout well. Cabin of choice is balcony cabin on Baja Deck, aft starboard.
Princess transfer from Sydney Airport to White Bay Terminal in air-conditioned coach was convenient and inexpensive. Some changes to bag drop since last time but straightforward. Priority check in was great, no waiting time at all. Short walk through immigration, customs, Princess photo opportunity, hand luggage scanned and we're on board.
Cabin Review
Balcony
Cabin was clean but was showing it's age.
The mattress needs replacing, the shelf near the entry was damaged and there was damage to the wall in the shower.
Port Reviews
Dunedin
Did not take an organised tour as have previously visited Dunedin.
Explored the town centre, visited heritage building, railway station and did a coastal rail tour before heading back to the ship.
Wellington
Did not take a tour in Wellington, but explored the city, took the cable car to the botanical gardens and then walked back to the city. It was a lovely day.
Napier
Did not take a tour in Napier.
Napier is a lovely city with very friendly residents who are very proud of the community.
I will definitely visit again.
Auckland
Did not take a tour in Auckland, have been there before.
Took a local bus to the MOTAT (museum of transport and technology).
Inexpensive and fun day. Worth a visit.
