Being first time cruisers, we did not really know what to expect and reading other's reviews I anticipated the equivalent of 3star hotel accommodation and dining. We found our ocean view room spacious, very clean and comfortable with plenty of storage. Plenty of real coat hangers are provided and we had spare drawers after unpacking. Cabin crew were friendly and efficient but we really didn't need any extra services from them.

The Pantry was a bit like a food court, which we usually avoid, but we only ever lined up for a couple of minutes and were able to either find quiet seating or take our meals outside to less crowded spots. I was pleased to find vegetables readily available along with lighter meal options. There really is something for every taste and the food is quite pleasant and fresh. We also ate in the Waterfront restaurant but not till the third night for dinner because we had neglected to book for an early sitting which suits us best. That's a lesson learnt for next time! Most of our dishes there were pleasant, some very good and a couple a bit ordinary. Drinks throughout the ship were at pub prices with the best mixed drinks found in the Promenade bar.

We enjoyed the atmosphere created by the newly refurbished public areas, quite quirky and cruise ship opulent. For us it added to the fun as did the excellent musicians throughout the ship. We had not expected such a high standard and found we often had to stop for a listen or a bit of a dance. Another surprise was finding the cruise director really funny in all his performances and presentations. That man sure knows how to ham it up!
