While I was searching for something different to do for our 30th Wedding Anniversary I contacted a Travel Agent friend to get some costs on cruises. My Wife and I have never been on a cruise so I thought this would be a great experience for us.
Upon boarding the The Majesty of the Seas our experience was starting out to be what we had expected......FANTASTIC. Everyone from the staff, that we encountered, was extremely polite; courteous; and helpful. Our itinerary, initially, was to board the ship between 10:30am and 4:00pm was changed to 5:30pm - 7:30pm due to the need to complete some "routine maintenance" was an inconvenience affecting our Dining schedule. We boarded at 4:30pm.
Initially we thought we were scheduled to dine at 6:00pm causing us to carry on our dinner attire (since our checked luggage may not arrive until 8:00pm at the earliest) and causing us rush to our cabin to change into our dinner attire. Days prior to boarding we found out that our scheduled dining time in the Starlight Dining Room, was mistakenly scheduled for 8:30pm every night of the cruise. We immediately had it changed prior to set sail day. After we boarded we were told that our scheduled dining time in the Starlight Dining Room, was not changed from 8:30pm every night of the cruise to 6:00pm every night of the cruise. We were forced to handle this, ourselves with the Matre De, which he graciously got it changed to 6:00pm every night of the cruise. Of course this caused more of a rush to get to our cabin and change into our dining attire for our 6:00pm scheduled dining time.
Upon entering our CABIN (9568), we noticed the view we had and that we had access to the window that gave us an unobstructed good view. We were concerned that we would have to crawl over our bed to enjoy looking out our window which was not the case in our cabin. it was also clean. My only complaint about our cabin is the bed. The size was ok, but I am used to a soft bed and the bed in our cabin was kind of hard. My wife found no problem with the bed. Storage in the cabin was slight, but we improvised by purchasing a shoe organizer that hung over the bathroom door (tip from a previous cruiser), that allowed us to put all of our toiletries in as well as my wifes flat iron and blow dryer in the bottom.
Our Stateroom Attendant (OSNER) was very attentive to us and made up our room twice a day.
