Our American Queen voyage from New Orleans to Memphis and back was something we anticipated for close to five months. I read every thing about the trip on Cruise Critic and agree with pretty much all the positive comments.

We were extremely fortunate to have Shedrik as our steward! Twice he took the time to make animals out of our bath towels and he shared his knowledge and observations on the river freely. He truly was a joy to talk with.

Rather than repeat what others have already written, I’d like to offer some advice I wish I’d had when preparing for the trip.

Cabin Review

Cabin Outside stateroom with open veranda

Our cabin was more spacious than expected, with a queen bed, a love seat and a chair. Plenty of room for storing clothes between the dresser drawers, drawers in the secretary and the closet rod. Bathroom was great -- good shampoo, conditioner, soaps and a nice hair dryer. Not at all claustrophobic! We particularly enjoyed leaving the doors open to watch the passing shoreline when it was too cool to sit on deck. Also appreciated the ice bucket being replenished every evening. Amazing cabin attendant Shedrik
