Sail Date: Apr 2017
Cabin: Junior Suite

Now that my daughter is a middle school teacher, I offered to take her away for a mother-daughter cruise for school vacation week. We booked a junior suite (cabin 1046) for the balcony. Having sailed on RCCL multiple times, most recently the Freedom and Oasis, I wasn't sure what to expect, but the timing and ports fit our schedule the best.

We had a wonderfully lazy 4 nights thoroughly enjoying the beach destinations, Starbucks coffee in Cafe Lattitudes and our balcony cabin. The junior suite was about the size of a Freedom balcony, but having the balcony was great. Our cabinet steward Yogi was so cheerful, and told us that he'd been with RCCL for many years, always on the Majesty because the crew was like a family.

Our dining room team was equally great. I'm allergic to wheat and need to eat gluten-free. Imed always made sure I got anything i wanted and even had the chef make the special flourless chocolate cake for a special dessert. Our tablemates agreed that it was way better than their signature chocolate cake on the menu.

Junior Suite

Cabin JS

Good location near the front of the ship by the elevator. One floor up was the Windjammer and pool (near the soft serve ice cream machine). Same section of the ship on deck 5 was the Starbucks counter (Cafe Lattitudes) and deck 4 was the dining room. Super easy to navigate and surprisingly quiet. Balcony was under a covering from the deck above and the life boats were just below. The balcony railing was metal spindles rather than the glass style on the newer ships, but the two chairs and side table were comfortable.
