Sail Date: Mar 2017

Having cruised with several different companies over the last 20 years, we decided to give this ship a try as it was offering two decent itineraries with only 2 sea days, also the A.I. drinks package and a nice cabin for the price we paid seemed appealing.

The ship itself was in very nice considering its age, RCCL do look after their ships, and the recent refit carried out by TUI obviously helped. The only negative was the lack of access to other decks at the aft end.

The food was no better than 3*, but we found the service in all of eateries to be very good, it could be a little slow at peak times but that should be expected, however the staff were great and coped admirably, thankfully no singing and dancing with baked Alaska, "So last millennium". The Glass House was a nice alternative dining venue with its Tapas and Pizza menu at no extra charge. We paid £25 pp to dine in Surf & Turf, the service was outstanding, but unfortunately in our opinion the food wasn't, we had scallops as a starter, which were either badly cooked or had been frozen, and the lobster was the same, the fillet steak was only average with little taste, the hand cut chips were in fact hand cut frozen chips, we did expect fresh food in this venue.

Cabin Review

Cabin D/L Balcony

Excellent, great size, loads of storage, large balcony, with sun beds. If you've cruised before, and keep the bathroom door closed when using the shower, then the curtain shouldn't be a problem. Melvin kept it clean and tidy at all times
