Statendam Alaska 2 week cruise from Vancouver to Seward and back. July 5th to 20th, 2009

We're experienced cruisers with over 30 days on 3 different HAL ships. The Statendam was the most recent, preceded by the Oosterdam and the Ryndam all within the last 18 months. Guests were myself, male age 66, and my 2 daughters aged 12 and 10 respectively.

We live in Greater Seattle and drove to Vancouver on July 4th to sail on Sunday July 5th. Quick observations—the hotel Pan Pacific at Canada Place sits atop the departure dock. Rather expensive at $300 plus for one night as was the quoted parking of $30 discounted for cruisers to 'only' $20 per day. The harbor itself is delightful.
