We were docked for 26 hours while ship corrected safety issues. Not really much explanation other than life jackets were showing their age. Missed best part of the cruise (private Island) and only compensated for 25% ship credit. Don't understand how this can happen given regular inspections of these vessels. Also, constantly smelled sewer gas on our stateroom floor traveling to our room. Staff seemed to be off their game with all of the distractions of setting in port. Really expected more from cruise line! On a positive note the food and dining room experience was very good. Wish that things had gone better as we had looked forward to cruising with Royal Caribbean for the second time. Alot of first time cruisers were really turned off by the experience. It is hard for to me to imagine that violating your own safety standards should be something that could punish your guests.
