We have just returned from the Thompson Celebration Arabian Nights cruise 31st January 2017 and I will endeavor to provide an honest overview of our experience, our embarkation went well we were continually moving with little queuing. You are provided with 2 keys on your arrival, one to open the stateroom door, the other for your onboard account.. so you need to remember both each time you venture forth. They also ask for a £15 charge if you wish to use the safe in your cabin, I found this a first time experience for premier class cabins.
The ship is looking very tired now, and shows its age, on arrival in our cabin we noticed the noise from the adjacent room was a bit disturbing. as we felt that if we could hear every word they said, then they could in turn hear our conversations a little of putting, for me anyway.
One of the things that hit me straight away was there are no steaks on the menus unless you pay £9.95 for the privilege. They also go so far as to ask £9.95 for Lamb cutlets. So basically if you don't eat red meat then this is the cruise for you... My wife is not a red meat eater so she found the meals acceptable, while I being a carnivore was a little peeved. The highlight of the evening meal in the main dining room on the third day was traditional fish and chips, I have never actually seen this on a evening meal cruise menu before.
On arrival in our cabin we noticed the noise from the adjacent room was a bit disturbing. as we felt that if we could hear every word they said, then they could in turn hear our conversations a little of putting, for me anyway. But the Cabin was spacious and comfortable with the all amenities. the cabin steward was excellent.
