We chose this cruise as the dates worked for us, the weather and the places that it visited. These cities were ones that we hadn't visited before but were intrigued by them. This was our first cruise and thought a week would be good for a first one. The flight was over night and it seemed to take a long time to get on board. We had an extra day in Dubai before we sailed, so we got to spend some time in the city. However, there was lots we couldn't do as we had to be back on the ship. The boat had obviously done a few miles and was looking a bit ragged round the edges, but we had a great cabin, quite high up and semi- detached'. The cleanliness was great and the housekeeping chap was very attentive. Overall, the food was good but very British. One thing I really missed from this experience was not being able to take in the cities in the evening, find a nice restaurant and people watch, as we always had to be on the boat to sail to the next port. My biggest complaint was the comic they had one night, he was awful, stuck in the 70's with attitudes to match. Very offensive! I don't think that we will be going on a cruise again any time soon. Also it felt like everything was an excuse to get you to spend more money, we had got the drinks package, but would still have had to pay extra for coffee in the code lounge, certain cocktails, then the excursions, then some of the activities, the list goes on.
