My wife and I chose to do this cruise as a quick getaway for our 10th wedding anniversary. We have sailed with Carnival several times but have always wanted to try RCI and the price of this cruise was too good to turn down. We were a little nervous after reading some of the reviews but all of those turned out to be untrue for the most part. We sailed on the four night cruise on Dec. 5th. We arrived at the port around 10:30 and there were already a decent amount of folks waiting to board. Security was a breeze and the lady at check-in was fast and friendly. We were in boarding group number 3. They started boarding the Crown and Anchor members at 10:45 and then the boarding groups. We were on board with a drink in our hand in the Schooner bar by 11:05. I don't think the embarkation process could have gone smoother. I am not sure that we were on the same ship as the people who posted negative reviews and it really made us feel sad for the people working on the ship. They work so hard, yet people do not seem to appreciate it and post things that are not true and could affect their well-being.

Here are the list of things we noticed that we considered negative:

1.) Our bed was not comfortable at all. That being said, we actually slept pretty well every night except for the last night.

Cabin Review

Ocean View Stateroom

Cabin F1

Great little cabin. It is small, maybe 8 feet wide, but it's quiet and everything worked well. The mattress is worn out and even with the egg crate it sags in the middle. Other than the bed quality, the room is great. The location is perfect as it is not far from the Starbucks, the Schooner Bar, and the main dining room. We were able to walk to most places on board very quickly.

Port Reviews

Nassau

We are not fans of Nassau. We did notice an increase of police presence while walking around but still did not feel very safe. It's a shame because the island is beautiful.

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

Very easy embarkation process.
