This was my hubby's 55th Birthday cruise. We wanted to try a suite on RCCL, as we have done NCL's Haven in the past, and just loved it! My husband works long, hard hours, so we wanted to see if we liked a shorter cruise that we might be able to do more often.

Bottom line was that we actually enjoyed the short cruise and would consider it again. Our suite was incredibly spacious. We even invited new Cruise Critic friends over for dinner one night. As to dinners on the cruise: another cruise critic patron wanted to get a group together for the Chef's Tasting Table, which we joined. This was a great decision! What a lovely evening of food and wine. The second night, we went to our main dining room table (we had set dining, not my time). Since it was the formal night, we were dressed up and my husband was literally sweating in his suit. Way too hot. The room was very crowded; I really don't see how the servers get around! So, we opted to eat with our new friends in our suite the last night. Took a while to get served, as we evidently did not have the correct menu in our suite, but that all was straightened out. Disappointed that they did not provide a table cloth, nor serve in our suite. We spoke with management and perhaps that will be changed in the future.

Ports: Nassau, where I think we would have been better off staying on the ship. We took the water taxi ($16 round trip) over to Paradise Island. There was someone providing narrative for tips, which was actually entertaining. Not sure I will get off at Nassau again. Coco Cay: we rented one of the suite cabanas (~$250). We wanted to stay out of the sun, so this was great. It had 2 loungers in the sun, and an "L" shaped sectional with pillows under cover. Great breeze, close to buffet lunch (which was very good), comes with snorkel equipment (we had brought our own), float mats (we didn't use), and a bar area is close by where you can use your ship card. We had set up a beach massage and I guess I was expecting a massage on the beach...you know, waves, breeze. Well, it is actually in a building in the cabana area. I would have opted to have a massage on the ship had I known.

Cabin Review

Royal Suite

Cabin RS

Cabin was fantastic!! King bed with HUGE bathroom. Double sink, whirlpool tub, separate shower and water closet. Walk-in closet and wardrobe closet. Vanity area. Wet bar with fridge (although coffee maker had to move to be near plug!) Large living area, with couches and dining table. I believe there was a Murphy bed, too. Large, large, large balcony. I was highly pleased with suite!

Port Reviews

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

We stayed at Hampton Inn in Orlando by airport. Flew in night prior and took hotel shuttle to hotel, then next morning, took shuttle back to airport to meet our pre-arranged transportation (Smart-Too). Very easy.

Nassau

Took water taxi ($16 round trip) to Paradise Island, where we played craps in a smoky environment. Next time, I'll stay on ship.
