This was a "sister cruise"...myself and my 2 sisters. We just wanted a little getaway from New Orleans where we live. It didn't start out good. There was a "computer glitch" during embarkation. We were in Zone One. Arrived for our 10:00 arrival time and didn't board until 1:30. They had to check us in off paper rosters. However, everyone was friendly (which is an improvement from past cruises there).
Our cabin was a huge disappointment. The bathroom was so outdated. It had pink "marblelite" counter/sink with blue tiles on floor and pink/blue swirl wall tiles...ugly and outdated. The counter in the cabin had peeling edging which kept catching and pulling on our clothing. We assumed there would be 2 twins and a pull down bed to accommodate the 3 of us, but instead had 2 twins and a COT! The mattresses were very uncomfortable with sinking mattresses. For the cot, they had to bring a second mattress to place on top the other one and then stuff towels under the sinking area of the mattress. There was only 2 electrical outlets in the entire cabin (none in the bathroom). In other areas of the ship, it seems to have received an overhaul in the common areas but the pool area was old. The grout around the tiles in the pools was either missing or dirty...looked old and dirty.
I have mixed reviews about the food: We LOVED the Guy Fieri Hamburger Joint! The burgers and the homemade fries there were the best thing on the ship! The pizza was pretty good too. Overall, the food in the dining rooms was good but we were VERY DISAPPOINTED that there was no longer lobster or escargot on Captains night!!! I understand they have to cut costs and some greedy people will order 6 of them. They should still offer it but limit people to ONE. Now there is a $20 surcharge if you want lobster.
Outdated bathroom, peeling edging around counter, very small shower, only 2 electrical outlets, uncomfortable, sagging mattresses.
Just did some shopping close by
