I went because a group of family and friends were going. Before traveling I was 'ho hum' about the whole thing. I did not expect it to be bad as such. Just ordinary. I had spoken to various people and those who had gone on a cruise at some stage were in the majority positive.

I am now an enthusiast. My experience was very positive. There was a ton of things to do. In fact I struggled to find time to do nothing.

I was initially a bit taken aback that all the extras cost money. Sunscreen and water come to mind. However they had put $150 on board spending money into each adults account and so in a way there was $150 worth of free sunscreen, water and coffee. Once I had gotten into the groove I felt that each individual transaction was good value for money. I had been worried that being a captive audience that we would be subject to rip off prices. Take away coffee was $3.90 compare to Brisbane city at $5 - that OK. Cocktails were about $12 compared to $18and more in Brisbane city.

Cabin Review

Cabin steerage with a window

2 double bunks, a window, a writing desk / dressing table, shower & toilet. We were on level 5 which is the same level as reception and not far above the water line. It was clean and tidy. Tones of draws and hanging space. Coat hangers provided. incl safes for valuables. The only negative is that the beds are ensembles (comfortable) but no space under the bed to store empty suitcases. I think if I were a regular cruiser I would want a suitcase that collapses when empty. It included one Australian power point. We took a 6 way power board so all the phones and wot not could be charged.
