This was the promised "Grammie cruise' with one of the grandchildren. (Spending time with them one at a time is very special.) The Bahamas is a perfect place for a little boy who loves to be in the water! The port is close to home, so this cruise seemed perfect. I had read several awful reviews of this ship, so I kept my expectations low. It was my 11 year old's first cruise, so I just hoped it would be 'good enough' to make him happy. His mom was with us, too. This was her second cruise so I was curious to see what she thought of this ship compared to Brilliance of the Seas, the one she had been on before.

We dropped our bags off and were on the ship in no time. Headed first to Windjammer for lunch. We went right to the grill, got hamburgers and French fries. He was happy that he could pick his own condiments and make it his way. No complaints from any of us.

Next we headed to the pool deck. One large pool, one kiddie splash pool, and a smaller pool under the movie screen. That's where we settled. He was instantly in the water, made friends with a few other boys his age, even enjoying the water slide on the kiddie pool. There were plenty of chairs and lounges. By sailing time, there were lots of people on deck, but it never seemed too crowded. LOTS of kids with summer vacation, but still room to move. I guess the ones who complained in other reviews expected a private adult pool, but this is a small ship, so no 'adult sanctuary".

Cabin Review

Ocean View Stateroom

Cabin F2

outside cabin, starboard, was near the front. Very quiet until ship was getting underway. Propulsion or anchors or gangway felt like right under our room. Worked as a great alarm clock. Very quiet at night for sleeping.
