This was our seventh cruise overall, our fourth with Celebrity and our first on the Century. Our other Celebrity cruises have been on their Millennium Class ships, Summit and Constellation. Overall we found the ship, the service, the food and the drinks to be well above average. The entertainment was good, not great, but we don't really cruise to be entertained so we pretty much enjoy whatever is provided and if we don't, we find something else to do. We liked the size of the ship. The cabins showed signs of wear, but the public areas are very well kept.

The only drawback we had concerning the entire cruise had nothing to do with Celebrity but with the Port of Miami. On the day of departure one of the parking garages was closed so passengers for all five ships that were in port were using the same garage. This caused a massive traffic jam and it took nearly an hour to park the car. When we returned to port we were docked about a mile from our departure berth. Shuttle service is provided but the number of people waiting for the shuttle made walking to get the car a better choice. The walk wasn't that bad and it gave me a chance to walk off some of the cruise food that was so enjoyable. The fee to park for five days was one hundred dollars which is pretty stiff, but again that is a problem with the port not with the cruise lines.

The service we received on board was as good, or better, than we have received on all of our past cruises. Celebrity has instituted a policy whereby gratuities are automatically added to your on board account at the suggested rate unless a guest specifically requests that they not be. We were concerned that this would cause the staff to lose interest in providing good service but we found it to be just the opposite. The staff seemed very happy and willing to help anyway they could. As a result we ended up tipping above the standard, as did most other passengers we talked to.

Cabin Review

Cabin OVV

Cabin was nice with sufficient storage space for five day cruise. Good location, center ship and unobstructed view. Carpets and drapes need updating.
