Once again we have taken a princess cruise where we need to take a holiday to get over it (so much for your slogan COME BACK NEW).Out of the 14 cruises we have done the Golden Princess from Sydney to Melbourne was the worst cruising experience we have had. The best part of the cruise was getting on the ship and getting off the ship. Everthing in between was terrible. Not long after settling into our room it was necessary to contact customer services to advise that the toilet in our cabin E120 had over flowed onto the bathroom floor. Some one was sent to our room and the problem was supposedly fixed. Just prior to the life jacket drill the toilet started to overflow again and it was necessary to contact customer services who advised they would send someone to our room immediately. When we returned from the compulsory drill we found our cabin totally soaked with the water going past the bathroom and all through the carpet. There was a good deal of water on the floor which also meant our bags and shoes which were on the wardrobe floor got thoroughly soaked. Vincent the manager from customer services was helpful and eventually found us another room, E512, which we were moved to. Our problems did not stop there because the toilet in this room constantly stopped flushing and every time we complained we were told it would be fixed. This happened at least 6 times which was more than a little annoying and we had to use the public toilets in between them fixing the toilet and were always wondering what it would do next and whether it was actually safe to use the toilet. We then had major issues with loud music and vibrations coming from the Wheelhouse Bar till all hours of the night because apparently this room was directly above it and not at all sound proof, so we didn't sleep at all for the two nights. We rang the pursers desk several times each night and asked if they could turn down the music or at least the bass of the music. That didn't happen. If I was staying in a hotel on land I would have walked out. I paid Princess to provide a service and they have not lived up to there end of the contract. I have three cruises booked for 2016 that if I could get my air fare refunded I would have cancelled all three cruises. Given the terrible room conditions and mediocre food served on this ship, we were totally disappointed with our cruise and do not feel we could recommend Princess after this experience.
