This was our second cruise with P and O - and not quite as good as the first. The first was on Oceana. Cabin - We opted for a super de lux cabin with balcony. On the the whole it was worth spending the extra money for a larger room overall with plenty of storage space, a larger bathroom with shower and a larger balcony - we like spending time on the balcony with a drink and just watching the sea go by. However we had a problem with our toilet - it would not flush in the morning. We had to continually ring reception who would send someone to fix it every morning. Despite them telling us it would be "monitored" - it obviously wasn't as it continually malfunctioned. We escalated our complaint and received a bottle of wine and money added to our on board account - after that it worked.....! Food - We had freedom dining in Cinnamon restaurant. The food there was mainly better on formal nights. The service was ok - but could have been better. We ate in all the speciality restaurants. They were all good. Glasshouse - Ate there a few times including the wine pairing night - was always very good. The staff seemed knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Sindhu - Ate there twice - fantastic. Very good quality. Wasn't the usual high street curry house - was high end good quality food. Epicurean - Also very nice food. Beach house - A mainly steak and chicken based restaurant. A lot of the dishes come out "sizzling" hot. We had sizzling chicken and "cook at the table" steak - all very tasty and worth the money. Waterside buffet - Is just that - a buffet. Not the best but is fine for what it is and always seemed to be open if all else fails. Bars - we only ever used one - The Exchange. Service was always good. Prices - fine, no apparent extra loading on the price. Costa coffee - Used it several times. Service was always prompt. No problems. Best to buy a costa card for good value. Ports of call. In our opinion there was too long in Malaga - we thought it was a soulless place, not long enough in Gibraltar - only 4 - 5 hours - needed longer. Only did one excursion - Lisbon. Was fine - No problems. Entertainment. Can't comment on the shows as didn't go to any. We mainly did quizzes and casino. The quizzes were mainly ok. Casino was fine - but needs to be a bit larger. Overall. Although I have only given it a 3 star rating it was basically an ok cruise just not brilliant.
