We usually sail on the smaller ships of Celebrity so this New England/Canada cruise on the HAL Maasdam cannot help but be a comparison. We took a late flight from Los Angeles to Boston. A HAL rep met us at the airport. Quite a wait until transport to ship but not unexpected as our flight arrived at 7am.

Embarkation was the quickest & most organized we have ever experienced.

Our cabin was made up & our bags already delivered. Our lanai cabin was 353 on the lower promenade. It had sliding glass doors out to the walking deck around the ship. Somewhat disconcerting until we realized walkers could not see in the one-way glass. Cabin was dated but comfortable, great bed & pillows! Bath really needed to be reburbished (mildew). Our cabin steward, Rabus, was wonderful; friendly & efficient.
