Ok, so she is 20 years old, so what? Her war paint is cracked in places, her bones creak and groan when she is under pressure from the weather but she is still a grand and refined lady of the seas. The decor is splendid and the furnishings in all public areas is designed and arranged to make everyone as comfortable as possible. The food, as always with P and O, was excellent in all areas although breakfast got a bit boring after the first few days with no great variation in what was on offer on a daily basis. Having said that however, what was on offer was hot where necessary and cold where required. The dinner menus were, as always, varied, well presented and one of the highlights of our holiday, being well cooked and extremely tasty. Being freedom diners we were lucky to find a table we really enjoyed being served at, and were able to sit there most evenings if we requested. The staff and crew that we had dealings with were the most friendly, efficient and courteous ever encountered on our several past cruises. The entertainment team were endlessly smiling and hard working ,with seemingly boundless energy. One complaint however was the Headliners dance routines and show productions, how many more times do we, as regular cruisers, have to sit and watch the same shows. This is not intended to detract from the members of the Headliners hard work and dedication. Many thanks to all the crew, however or wherever they were working.
