My wife and I decided to book a last minute cruise, 2 days before departure, and were surprised that a cabin was available. The booking agent was very sweet and helpful. I was happy with the $400 price for 2, being a last minute deal. The check-in was relatively quick, the valet parking for $17/night was for 2 nights and reasonable. The food selection at the buffet once on board was not huge but a pretty good variety and the quality was actually good! We had just went on the RC Majesty 2 weeks prior for a 4 day cruise from Miami and this Grand Celebration had a more lively atmosphere as far as live music. The shows were not disappointing as variety shows go. From dancers to comedians to acrobats to magicians, they kept us entertained. The talent was quite skilled, having appearances on Letterman and Seinfeld. We decided to skip the excursions and just go directly to Lucaya resort to get a $15 day pass, but once there were told they stopped issuing them due to high occupancy. So we could have booked it from our ship for more money but we were being frugal. We discovered that the free public beach by the police station was kinda rogh looking so we wandered back up to Lucaya's beach where we found out it was ok to hang out there if you wanted to go without a lounge chair. Fortunately, we brought our own towels and laid on them and enjoyed a nice beach day. Later we walked over to the marina area and got some "fresh", i mean fresh conch fritters and deep fried lobster from a little kiosk stand by the water for $15. It was WOW good. We carried it over to a bar and had 2 for $6 local beers. Btw, the cab from the ship round trip was $20 for both of us together. Just pay up front and get a card to return at the Memories casino departing on the hour until 430. The biggest con was the ship vibration and noise when stopping and docking. It was like having a vibrating bed. Anyway, much more to say but I'll end with "better than expected."
