Dining has always been one of the best things on Carnival cruise and for the most part we were not disappointed; however 2 nights of our cruise their signature dessert, warm melting cake was warm melting syrup and inedible for me. Wasn't overly impressed with Guys burgers but they are much better than the burgers that the CC used to serve. We had requested a 6pm dining and was given 815pm dining. We did get it changed but we felt we were ignored by the dining staff most nights. We were forgotten a couple of times and had to actually call out for service. The casino staff and servers were courteous and prompt so no complaints there. Embarkation with a Faster to the Fun Pass was slow but debarkation was very quick and smoother than most any other time we have cruised.

We did not see the shows in the Rome lounge but we did see all of the adults only stand up comedy shows, James Johan and Rob Little. James Johan was ROTF funny the first show but really didn't have any material for a second show and he crapped out about 10 minutes early. Rob Little was OMG funny both nights! His second show went almost 45 minutes over and people were only leaving because they still had packing to do or needed to cash out at the casino. We bought his DVD and have already watched it.

We booked the Rio Secreto tour in Cozumel and it is one of the best excursions we have ever done. It is a physically difficult excursion even more so than the description states. You have to be able to walk almost 2 miles on uneven dry and wet terrain. You will be in a cave in the water and there is no natural light at all. So please keep this in mind if you are thinking of doing this excursion. Progresso is still mostly a dump. Wasn't much to see there in 2008 and it hasn't changed all that much.

Cabin Review

Premium Balcony

Cabin 9B

The crew is awesome! Apollo was our cabin steward, cabin 7422, he and his assistant were top notch. Our cabin was always clean and ready to use within 15 to 30 minutes after we left. We had 2 requests during our stay for an ice bucket, he had one in our cabin and kept it filled with ice everyday and we asked for extra pillows which he had to us within 10 minutes of our asking for them. The cabin was spacious but worn! The counter was permanently stained and not amount of elbow grease would change that. We were disappointed that there was not a mini fridge in the cabin. The balcony was beautiful wrap around so we have great views from the back and portside but again there was no way to hide the age of the decking, railing or deck furniture. There were many other areas of the ship that age was apparent and I would guess that CCC has no plans to change that situation
