I'll start this review by saying the Destiny was worth a second try. We had a great time and experienced no problems from start to finish. I had been on the Destiny a few years ago when she was in Puerto Rico. I was truly disappointed with the ship as it really was worn down, old and tired. Since completing her drydock just a few weeks before this trip, the improvements can be seen shipwide and I am so glad I gave her another try.

Embarkation - VIP/Platinum. Arrived at the Pier just around noon. Passport, credit card and Funpass in hand, we were escorted directly to the front of the security line and directed up to the second floor VIP Lounge. No waiting. This was great! Checked in with the staff member who wrote my name down and I was asked to be seated. I just sat down and within 2 minutes, my name was called. We were checked in and given our room keys within 5 minutes. Off to get our pictures taken and on to the ship. Total time...20 minutes from the moment we entered the terminal.

Ship - She looks wonderful. I had read some recent reviews where people stated the refurb was not completed, so I was little worried. Happy to say that by the time our sailing came, all the refurb work was completed and the ship looks great! We had a balcony cabin and it was apparent that the cabin had received recent updates including the bathroom. Plenty of storage space, comfortable bedding and a balcony with new furniture. The poolside theater is really nice. Although at times, it can tend to be loud, it did not take away from the cruise experience. The changes on the Lido Deck are a tremendous improvement. They moved the bar away from the sliding glass doors and now there is a bar on each side further down on the deck. It improved the traffic flow tenfold. The upgrades to the fitness center, casino and other various public rooms turned out very nicely. Food - Lido Deck Sun & Sea Buffet food was your typical fair. I do have to say that for buffet food, it was average to above average. There was something for everyone and there was never an empty space. Food was constantly being replenished. The lines moved well and the area kept clean at all times.

Great storage space, good location for easy access to Lido Deck and fitness center. A little noisey at times when there is music in the atrium as this cabin is close to the elevators and open area.
