EMBARKATION: This was my second cruise with Carnival. I flew into Ft Lauderdale the morning of the cruise. I wouldn't do this again. Had a delay in take off and was more stressed because of it. Experienced long lines to check in probably because we arrived much later than I thought we would. I missed my roll call :(
SHIP: The ship was very nice. Common areas were all well kept and clean. We had a balcony room and I loved it. It was definitely worth the extra money. We had late seating in the Paris Dining room. There were 5 of us sailing together and we had our own table. The first night when we went to dinner there were people sitting at our table. They were supposed to have early seating but decided to come to late seating instead. They were very rude to the staff telling them that they needed to find another table for them because the baby had to eat (this bottle fed baby certainly wasn't eating the steak but whatever). The staff found us another table that was in a better location and we had no other problems. We did feel a lot of motion on this cruise which I believe was because of the tropical storm that had just passed.
FOOD: On our last cruise the food was one of the highlights. The food at dinner was amazing so I expected the same on this cruise. This wasn't the case. Some of the food was good. Some however was pretty bad. I ordered steak one night cooked medium. It came to me rare. It was completely red in the middle and bleeding. I asked several people how they thought it was cooked and they said rare. The next night I ordered prime rib medium well. It was ok but more like medium/medium rare. The chocolate melting cake was also undercooked. It had the consistency of chocolate sauce. The food on the Lido deck was good and I had no complaints about it. The sandwiches in the NY deli were amazing!
