Our 10th cruise, 3rd on Destiny, went with family ages 35-79, 14 of us in all. Had 5 balcony rooms in a row, 2 insides across the hall. Flew down the day before and stayed at Best Western Airport. Worked well, walked from baggage pickup to hotel. Enjoyed small casino, plan to frame .02 credit slip. Dinner choices in hotel non-existent. Chicken wing place across the street with the biggest wings I've ever seen. Must have big chickens in Puerto Rico. Some in our group took a taxi to downtown SJ. Taxi stand in front of hotel. In morning, left about 11:30 after free breakfast. Negotiated two van taxis to take all of us to ship. Checkin fast since we did online, went up to booze store. True you can put in your carryon with no questions asked. They also have tonic and soda. Boarding was a little slow.

Balcony rooms were clean, plenty of storage. No refrigerators. Robes in every room, a little girly looking. Bathroom clean with medicine cabinet which I prefer to shelves on Carnival's newer ships. Still have those stupid over the bed lights which I manage to break every time. New ships have night stand/lamp arrangement. Room stewart would only open dividers between 2 of the rooms at either end. We, after use of many "tools" from a corkscrew, nail clippers, and knife, finally got all 5 doors open which we enjoyed immensely for the rest of the cruise.

Ate dinner in dining room, food was fine. Not quite up to the standard of previous cruises as far as choice. Service fine, no extra personality by our servers, unlike previous cruises. Chinese food good. Cafeteria food boring, long lines, much prefer "served" food. Since we had booze and great balcony, didn't go to bars very much. Stores were same old, same old.
