I was part of a group (seniors 60's-70's) of 22 people for the September 22, 2007 Carnival Victory cruise. This was a seven day Canada/New England cruise. I have previously cruised with Carnival on the Spirit to Alaska two years ago. My last cruise was on the NCL Pearl in August of this year (Glacier Bay).

We had a three day precruise stay in NYC. The accompanying travel agent made all the travel, hotel and transfer arrangements through the travel agency she works for.

I had decided only a month before to go on this trip. After reading the reviews for the booked hotel I was almost sorry I had booked the trip. Our reservations were at the Pennsylvania Hotel. I did express my concern about this hotel to the Travel Agent. She assured me that we would be getting what they called "Superior" rooms and if there were any problems the rooms would be changed. Thankfully, I don't have a horror store to report about the hotel. Our room was ok, cleaned everyday and I did not see some of the things reported by other travelers. The location was very convenient. Our stay included a small buffet breakfast at Joe O's (the hotel's restaurant) and I found the dining room staff to be very friendly and helpful. There was also a great little Irish pub near by called the Blarney Rock. It had wonderful burgers.
