Sail Date: Dec 2014

This was our third Thomson cruise and our second on the Majesty. We were on this ship in May 2014 and we had an excellent cruise, so we were so looking for to the Christmas cruise. Well, standards have plummeted since May. (We were informed that there was a change of crew around October/November).

Firstly, the food this time was very poor - mostly tasteless, at best lukewarm and there was a distinct lack of vegetables. The coffee served with meals was always lukewarm and tasteless.

Secondly, the attitude of the waiting staff was indifferent. When we pointed out that food was cold, they were reluctant to take the plates away and when they were finally persuaded to do so we did not see our meals for quite some time, which left us eating out of sync with the other members of the table. We did make a complaint to the Maitre d' of the Seven Seas Restaurant, but saw no subsequent improvement in service or warmth of food.
