Sail Date: Jul 2014

We sailed to Spain and France, even being in Bordeaux on Bastille Day which was amazing. The ship was fantastic although a little tired looking, especially on the hull. The staff were all friendly, especially at the cocktail parties, officers went out of their way to talk to us. When we attended the Caribbean luncheon we had a lovely table which was hosted by the Staff Chief Engineer who had his wife travelling with him, it was lovely to hear all about the background of the ship and the officers life on board. We enjoyed all the ports of call and the weather was superb.

Our cabin was very nice and comfortable but it was a bit of a pain not being able to smoke on the balcony anymore. As we are both smokers this is not ideal. We do feel that smokers get a raw deal now. I can understand the reasons behind this decision but we still don't agree with it.

the food was very good and the alternative dining of Sorrentos was excellent although the Ocean Grill we think is overpriced at £12.95 pp, the food was just as good in Sorrentos for only £5.00 pp. After reading another review about these being used as an extra staff canteen, we personally thought it was nice to see the officers enjoying the facilities, it was never full so there was always a spare table.
