Sail Date: Apr 2014

This was our 8th cruise but we hadn't been on P&O for 5 years. I know one shouldn't compare apples with oranges but after sailing on the Diamond Princess in December 2013 the poor old Pearl just can't compare. Just little things like no bag provided for towels, no water brought to the table in the buffet etc. Considering we paid virtually the same price on the Diamond, it's head and shoulders above the Pearl.

The staff were good.

The food was just ok in the Waterfront - the same old complaints about steaks not being done as ordered but also some of the dishes just didn't taste good.

Cabin Review

A good sized cabin really close to the aft elevators - very handy for going to the Waterfront and the buffet. It was in good condition and very clean. We were a bit worried about it being next door to the door to the crew mess but we didn't hear anything. Also a lot less movement when the sea got rough than other parts of the ship.
