A quick introduction. My wife and I are in our mid-twenties and LOVE Royal Caribbean. We are Diamond Crown and Anchor (C&A) Members (over 10 RCCL cruises). In addition to RCCL, we have cruised on Carnival (too loud/lacks refined service) and Holland America (too old but service is amazing) in the last 3 years. I have been on several other cruise lines not listed and keep coming back to RCCL.

My family owns an agency so I book my travel on cruise lines directly with the travel agent desk. Booking with RCCL is always easy and painless. We chose to arrange separate air travel. (My wife is from Miami and I went to school there. Having spent so much time in Miami we have learned that flying into/out of FLL (Fort Lauderdale) is usually easier and cheaper. Not taking my own advice, we flew American Airlines into and out of MIA. While flying into MIA is not normally a problem, departing is a nightmare. The lines to check in seem to last forever. (Not a pleasant way to end an otherwise wonderful vacation.) We had a friend pick us up at the airport and take us to the ship. Getting to the port was painless except we accidentally got into the truck line and were moving very slow until we were able to get over.

Embarkation was quick and easy. We went over to the line for passengers booked in suites or C&A members with Platinum (over 5 RCCL cruises) or higher status. We waited for one group ahead of us and then were speaking to the agent. (This was a dramatic improvement over our last cruise. In December we went on a 7 night cruise out of Miami on Explorer of the seas and were in line for 45 minutes in the Suites/Platinum+ line.) We had filled out our online embarkation information and had printed the set sail pass. We presented the agent with our set sail pass, Passports (these are becoming increasingly important) and credit card. Within a couple minutes we had our ship board ID cards and proceeded thru boarding the ship. They had a line for people who wanted the Embarkation Photo and a bypass for those of us who don't want to purchase that photo and don't want to wait in the line. (Very Nice!!!)
