It was easy to catch a bus to the train station and then the train to Rome, a short walk to the metro and 5 hours in Rome. We kept 3 hours for our return. The 5 hours only allowed us to see parts of Rome, not much but still worth a visit. ...

Little bit more awkward to get to train station now. Free transfer to port entrance, walk, bus or taxi to train station 15 minutes walk. It used to be only 5 minutes walk but port entrance now changed. Pay handsomely for RCCI trips or go independant - we always have done and probalby have seen more of the city. ...
