Cabin: Deluxe Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

I agree with almost everything that By Sarah Wyatt, Cruise Critic contributor said. What a beautiful boat. I think I fell in love with the ship. This was our second cruise and first on an American cruise line. Possibly because of all this we had some difficulties at first in learning how things worked.

The following things are for free

Some gym classes (abs and stretches and a few other things)

Deluxe Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Near steps, yet with the door closed no noise from the centre, near Windjammers. Lovely to have a balcony with great views at various ports and near islands. Stromboli was a plus. The decor was nice, and with the exception of house dust mite, we were fine. Linen and towels were great.

Port Reviews

Cannes

We just did a quick sight see of Cannes, good museum and look out point up on the hill.

Florence (Livorno)

We went to 5 Terre but felt that a trip to Luca would have been better. 5 Terre had a boat nearby the cruise ship and made it easier to organise than catching a train to Lucca and back. Next trip! We enjoyed 5 Terre but found the food average and not much to do there. Pretty photo opportunities.

Rome (Civitavecchia)

It was easy to catch a bus to the train station and then the train to Rome, a short walk to the metro and 5 hours in Rome. We kept 3 hours for our return. The 5 hours only allowed us to see parts of Rome, not much but still worth a visit.

Athens (Piraeus)

Three of us rented a cab for the whole day for 80 Euro. Took us to all the things we wanted to see. The new Museum is great.

Mykonos

Delos was great, there are ferries that leave with regular frequency and we spent a few hours marvelling at the ruins. Mykonos is a bit tired with overpriced everything.

Santorini

We rented a car and saw Akrotiri and had the best meal everyoverlooking the caldera near Akrotiri. Really fabulous day. Be careful to make sure you are at the cable car at least 40 minutes before the last ferry back to the boat leaves. Otherwise you might have to run down the steps to the wharf. Takes a fit person 35 minutes.

Malta (Valletta)

Surprisingly wonderful. The hop on hop off bus a disaster to get to the neolithic ruins at Tarxien. We had to walk about 1 km to the ruin and decided to get a taxi back as these buses do not seem to keep to schedule. The ride back through the countryside was about 2 hours. We did the St Elmo fort Museum, the archeological museum and St John's cathedral. All worthwhile. Loved Tarxien. Do not expect much but do wonder at how developed we were back then.
