Embarkation: We stayed in Fort Lauderdale, used a company called SAS for the transfer, good rates and prompt, would recommend them and Fort Lauderdale, only a 25-30 minute transfer and cheaper airfare for us. The embarkation process was very easy, and at around 2pm only took us 15-20 minutes in total. Good job here Carnival.

Set Sail: Carnival does do a good job of partying it up at Set Sail, I suppose you can thank the cruisers, but the atmosphere should be fun and like a party and our second time on the Destiny did not disappoint. Plenty of fun and people having fun! Good job here Carnival.

Ship amenities and condition: The Destiny is elegant in many ways, this has not changed. I love all the glass, and the contemporary ambiance. The ship has held up quite well over the renovations and time. The bars on the ship have not been upgraded, same everything since her 16 year ago inauguration. Sometimes you don't want to change a good thing, and in this case there are many good things. However, the ship has only one bar that is anything to write home about and it is small. If you want to watch football on this ship good luck, you will have to show up 2 hours before game time to get a seat. I would add TVs to all bars on the promenade deck, the Criterion lounge is probably the only one that couldn't work that in. This is pretty specific but hey, most people like a good bar scene and the Destiny doesn't deliver at all. For a first time cruiser this ship is unique and a good choice.
