The Celebrity Eclipse was spectacular! This was the first cruise we had taken, and we had read a number of reviews here on cruisecritic and decided that celebrity was the way to go.
Embarkation was supersmooth, although we elected to get there early in the day, approx 11:30 AM, even though the staterooms were not ready until about 1 PM. It gave us the opportunity to explore the ship, albeit with our carryons in tow. The staff was very courteous, with everyone welcoming us aboard. Most of the ship was open to us to explore, and it was nice and relaxed.
Once muster was completed and we were underway, we had a nice time the first couple of days, as our first port of call was not until the third day. The shows in the eclipse theatre were spectacular, Vegas quality events with great sound, dancing and cirque trained performers. The Rip Tides, and acapella group, were great, as was Karen Grainger, a female vocal impressionist.
The food was spectacular. We dined at the Tuscan Steakhouse once, which was great. The view from that restaurant is unbeatable, as it is right at the aft, and provides a great trailing view of the ocean. We also tried the Bistro on five, which was a nice crepe restaurant. The Cafe al Bacio, also on five, had great specialty coffees and snacks. As we had the non alcoholic beverage package, the coffee place was a nice place for us to sit and relax either before dinner, or after breakfast, and plan our day.
The pools, we spent our time in the solarium, as it was the "no kids" indoor pool. The outdoor pools were more busy, but there was still space around all the pools for sitting and relaxing.
