Lesson number 1. Travel a day early. I know everyone says that but I figured 7 hours built into the schedule would be enough. I was wrong. Atlanta had an ice storm, the first since 2000. Atlanta cancelled all incoming flights and by the time we rerouted through Chicago we arrived in Miami one half hour before sailing time.

Lesson number 2. Buy the travel insurance. I almost passed on the insurance. Am I glad I listened to the wife and purchased it. Read more
