Ship Facts: Norwegian Sun Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Norwegian Sun Deck Plans
Norwegian Sun - Western Caribbean
We had a blast! Most everything was wonderful with the exception of some of the on board entertainment. In fact, NCL would do well to replace the Cruise Director, Linda, who is an old woman -- mostly out of touch with what is hot and happening. She really likes to hear herself talk and would always go on and on with her explanations of everything. We would get to the point of getting up and walking out of an event just because she wouldn't shut up. Just as an activity was just getting rolling and becoming fun, there she would be to interrupt and give a speech. One night was the poolside Caribbean party. They started with lots of fun music, a conga line, and some fun dance lessons. Everyone was having a blast and then comes LINDA. She starts explaining a contest where men would be dressed up like women. Half the people left and went to bed. She should have let the party roll!

The freestyle dining is no big deal. You can schedule whenever you want to eat. One thing we did miss was the "theme" nights in the dining rooms of other cruises lines. You wind up just dining without a lot of fanfare.

Food was very good. Selection was just ok.

Rooms (ours was a balcony) were very nice. Large enough. Great showers, but small bathrooms.

Crew was VERY polite and accommodating. Everyone was friendly and went out of their way to greet us always.

The ship does make a lot of "racket" when docking. Sleeping is impossible as the propellers and side thrusters reverberate throughout the ship. Other than this, it is very smooth and handles rough water well.

The ports were fun. In Grand Cayman we swam with the stingrays -- very fun! In Roatan we toured the island and sat on the beach. Very Nice! In Belize we took the cave tubing adventure (Junior was our guide. There is none better!). This adventure should not be missed. So fun!!! In Cozumel we took a taxi to Senior Santos beach. This was nice and relaxing as our trip was almost over. Don't just stay on the boat! Go have fun!

Embarkation and Disembarkation went very smooth. No problems.

Let me know if I can help you with suggestions.

Have fun!
