Embarkation -â€" We left our home for the port around noon. We arrived around 12:30ish. This is our second time out of Jaxport (and the second time on Fascination as well). There was some new goings on. We were surprised to be asked for our documents while still in the car before we were even at the curb. They check id's and passenger tickets upon driving in. We were not prepared. Our documents were in the back in a backpack. Not too big a deal, but a little stressful. Due to our cabin category we had VIP embarkation. We had a separate door. Went to a little holding room (it is VERY little, many people had to sit outside the door.) Waited our turn and within 10min had our Sign and Sail cards and were on our way onto the ship. The non-vip line was VERY long and we were very thankful for VIP status.

We are on the ship -â€" no real welcome aboard as I remember in the past. No big deal, I don't need welcomed. There was a mad house attempt to find food without waiting in a long line, of which we gave up. We went to the room at 1:30 on the dot. Fed the kids food I brought with me from home. There were a couple of issues for us once we hit the room. We travel with our 10month old and our 3 year old. There was no crib, and the roll away bed was folded up. Naps start at 2pm. I really wanted naps to happen before muster drill, or no one was going to be happy. Called the Room Steward button on the phone and he answered. I asked for a crib, and he said he would have one at 3pm. I said that is too late, 3pm is muster drill. He then said he is off work and that he will help us at 3pm. I said again that will not work. He said to call room service. I thought that was strange so I called the purser's desk. They then had the cabin steward come and bring us a crib. He was not happy and I could tell. I asked about the roll away, and the couch bed. He was here to drop off the crib and that I can do it myself. I asked if he could empty the minibar later and he said I could do that myself too. We asked if he could take the rollaway since it was in the middle of the room taking up space. He said later since he is off work right now and then left. (This was not setting a very good tone with us.) So he left. We called the purser's desk again to ask if they could take the rollaway out. While we waited on someone, we rearranged the furniture ourselves. We took the bedding off the rollaway and made the couch bed for our 3yo. The head of housekeeping showed up, just in time to see us finish moving our couch. He then took over. He was really nice and made the beds for us. He took the roll away, and our naps started.

Muster Drill -â€" so easy peasy. Met at the muster station in promenade and waited. Vacation can now begin.
