Stopped at Arles, Avignon, Tournon sur Rhone, Vienne,Lyon, Macon and Chalon sur Saone. Very beautiful cities with interesting tours. Lots of History, art, vinyards, Wineries and beautiful countrysides. Only bad side trip was in Macon which was a nighttime walking tour of the town. we were not told that the "tour" was actually a hike up steep hillside cobblestone streets in almost total darkness. Rene, the guide, also kept up a fast pace and left several of us older people who had trouble keeping up and left to find our own way in the dark back to the boat. While I grade Viking high on the cruises, I recommend that people who have trouble walking up hills, etc ask for honest answers on distances and difficulty of side tours.Service, dining and facilities were excellent. Short on evening entertainment. Would have appreciated more local talent brought on board to augment the piano player. post cruise option in Paris included the BEST tour guide I've ever had on any cruise or vacation. We went around Paris as a small group on public transportation (metro, city buses, etc) instead of the usual tour bus. This helped immensely when we were on our own later on.
Small cabin, but adequate, since you don't spend much time in it other than sleeping and dressing.
