Ship Facts: Carnival Miracle Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Carnival Miracle Deck Plans
Irene and us
This is our 1st Carnival cruise. We went on the Carnival Miracle this time and was looking forward to Grand Turk and their Island. The Bahamas we could have skipped only because we were there so many times.

Due to hurricane Irene their Island was canceled due to damage. We had another day out to sea. And stopped at the other 2 Islands.

We have cruised with Royal,Celebrity and Norwegian. So we have a few to compare. There were good things and bad things about Carnival.

We left out of NYC and the Embarkation was just a big cluster. there was so much confusion the staff were telling everybody the wrong place to go. After we got on board we couldn't get to our rooms till later. We went to the buffet on the upper deck and there was not a table to be found. So we ate standing up. OK it's the 1st day let's see where we go from here. I think it was due to most people just sitting there after they ate and not giving other people a chance to sit.

What was good about Carnival the staff were extremely friendly and every one had a smile and said hello.

The Wait staff and cabin staff were second to none.

The entertainment was good to excellent. The comedians were not funny.

They had a Deli counter open all the time that was very good. And a pizza counter also that was good.

What was bad in no particular order is the food at the buffet was ok, but the same thing every day. No variety at all this got tired real soon.

The 3 pools oh did I say pools? I meant to say bathtubs because that was the size of them. Was a joke for a ship that holds over 2000 the 3 pools should hold more than 20 total.

The lounge chairs were another joke. Not enough and not enough space. People were allowed to save their lounge chairs all day. Not good. The 2 upper decks had no lounge chairs. On other cruise lines the pools were bigger had more lounge chairs

and you were not able to save it all day. Also there were lounge chairs on upper decks and also on lower decks. So for 5 days at sea this was not good at all. Like cruisinteam says "IF YOU ARE A POOL PERSON, MAKE SURE YOU CHOOSE ANOTHER SHIP"

After 5pm no music on the deck and pretty much no activities at night.

Food was very good to bad and the steak house Nick and Nora's was not worth $30 per person. It was good but you used to get that quality at the dinning table.

One of our parties is a diabetic and this was the first time any ship denied any of her requests about food. All requests went to the Matre'd and he lied and made up stories. Just come out and say we won't do that don't lie.

All the other cruise lines were more than happy to accommodate her with her requests. By the way we had to hunt down the

Matre'd as he never came over to our table to introduce himself.

The breakfast at the buffet was not to our liking. The eggs came from a carton

and when I asked him so scramble or make an omelet from real eggs "can't do" was the answer. Also there was no smoked salmon or any fish to be had. I couldn't find any waffle station. If you wanted those you needed to go to the dinning room.

This might be nit picking but most people in the casino agreed this was not good. The casino is on deck 2 if you want to get a late night snack you had to go to deck 10. The pay for coffee bar that closes early should be open late with food and such. It is just outside of the casino. Just a suggestion to make life easier since we are loosing money to you at least we can do it with a smile.

The bars on the ship should be opened much later. After 11pm most closed.

The in room safe can only be used with a credit card rather than a numeric code. This makes no sense because you want to keep those in the safe duh.

I know each cruise line does things different but on the other lines everything seems to be cohesive and make sense.

So much of this ship makes no sense. If you never went on another cruise line please try one and you will see a difference.

Even though this was mostly negative We did have a good time. But the other cruise lines were more to our liking.
