We were shown straight to our stateroom,( cases having arrived)and impressed by the standard of accommodation. After enduring the mandatory Lifeboat drill, we set about exploring the ship.
The staff were extremely helpful and polite and we soon settled in.
We chose late evening dining, but on reflection probably would have chosen anytime dining as space in the entertainment venues become limited by the time evening meal has ended. Meals were all first class with great attention to detail. We never felt the need to go to the a la carte restaurants.
The entertainment was excellent in both the theatre and bars and apart from one American comedian, was well worth watching.
We found the drinks a lot cheaper than last year when we went with Royal Caribbean which meant wine at dinner and drinks in the bar were not an issue.
If you want to do trips through the Cruiseline, book early as they sell out fast, It must be said you can do a lot of trips under your own steam although can be a little chaotic unless you prebook online.
The scenery was absolutely stunning, something you will never forget........
Make sure you take your camera and get up early for the arrivals in the fjords.
Our first port of call was Stavanger. We opted to do our own thing and buy tickets on the waterfront for a cruise up the Lysefjord.Be warned it is chaos to get your tickets, make sure you are there early. Fantastic sights in the fjord, although it was raining it only added to the dramatic landsacape. The 3 hour boat trip was not to be missed. After the trip we walked around Stavanger and enjoyed the sights.
Not much to do in Olden and would recommend taking the Cruise coach tour of the surrounding area, to take in the breathtaking scenery, and enjoy afternoon tea at a local hotel in the mountains. Guide was extremely knowledgable and even showed us his house set in the hillside.
Fantastic views as you cruise the fjord to Gerainger (Get up early for Photos). You can leave the Boat by tender, and walk around the small town, but not much to do unless you take the organised coach tour, which was very similar to the one in Olden, so we opted out.
A super cruise, thoroughly recommended, but would suggest more for adults of a certain age rather than children
Well done Princess Cruises 5*
