* This ship was WAY too crowded. We (2 of us) spent at least an hour each day searching for chairs in the sun on the ship. When we chose to eat somewhere besides the dining room like the grill by the pool or the Windows by the Sea area, we spent another 30 minutes searching for seating. There were times that we literally could not find anywhere to sit and had to take our food to our room. The swimming pool (which is far smaller than the pictures make it seem) was constantly packed to the point that people were shoulder to shoulder in the pool. There was not a time during our 7 day cruise that we even got in the pool or a Jacuzzi for that matter due to the massive amounts of people that were always in there as well as the questionable cleanliness of the water. On port days, crowds lined up in the halls and spread up stairwells to endure the hour long wait to get off the ship. In order to actually sit and watch a show you would have to arrive over 30 minutes early or you would end up seated on stairs, the floor, or standing for the duration of the show.

*The food was less than great. Food in the dining room was usually OK, but the portions we received a condiment dish sized serving of macaroni and cheese. There was one dessert that was always offered (some kind of chocolate melting cake) that was actually good. Food by the pool was in my opinion the best as you could always rely on a hamburger, hot dog, or chicken nuggets, but often this site would be closed when it was listed in our itinerary to be open. Some of the worst food was in the buffet style Windows by the Sea! Though the desserts looked delicious, they all had a strange taste to them....what my friend and I described as "turkey flavored" and most contained a bitter frosting looking contents that we just referred to as "Carnival Cream" which I thought was disgusting. We also tried some of the room service which was pretty much awful. The only thing that we could actually eat was a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. The only plus was that at any time during the day you could get an ice cream or a non-fat frozen yogurt. However, at about 10pm each night, hoards of teenagers would overtake the ship and roam around the entire ship loud and without supervision. One result of this was that there were always ice cream and cones around the machines and all over the floor while the troop of children responsible for the mess stood around laughing.

*THE BIGGEST ISSUE My friend and I had a room with porthole windows. On a night that it was storming we climbed into the area in front of the portholes and closed the curtains to watch the storm. Housekeeping entered our room and began cleaning at this time. The person cleaning was unaware that we were in the room and from behind the curtains we observed him grab my cell phone and hold on to it for about 5 minutes before placing it back where it had been retrieved from. After he left the room, it was obvious that buttons had been pressed on my phone, but I had no way to know what had been done or seen on my phone. Being rightfully scared as we were two females out in the middle of the ocean who only knew one another, we hung our "snoozing" sign on the door so housekeeping would not enter our room and called down to receive towels. On the last night of the cruise we went to guest services to report the incident. We spent at least an hour and a half in a room with members of housekeeping and guest services who, with the exception of one woman from housekeeping, were very rude and confrontational towards us. No one seemed to understand our fear in reporting the issue earlier nor did they seem to see the seriousness of a member of their crew going through my cell phone (that contains photographs, emails, personal info, and is linked to my bank account). After a tear filled discussion on our end and a written statement, we decided to try to enjoy the rest of our last night and to take the matter up with Carnival Customer Care after getting off the ship. We did receive a discount of two days of gratuity towards housekeeping which totaled $11 for the 2 days in which we didn't receive any housekeeping, but were still charged gratuity for the night that the person actually went through my phone!! This seemed more like a slap in the face than any attempt to resolve the issue. I have been in contact with customer care since arriving home and have been told that I would hear something within 5-7 days. Hopefully something will be done to resolve this matter.
